The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is preparing an Opinion on "Towards a Global Green Deal: harmonising global frameworks for climate change, biodiversity and sustainable development" , led by rapporteurs Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw, ENVE commission Chair and Ms Kata Tüttő, Deputy Mayor of Budapest and ENVE commission 1st Vice-Chair.

The CoR wishes to collect feedback to enhance the drafting process and the content of this opinion.

In this framework, the CoR is organizing an event on “A multilevel and harmonised UN framework for climate, biodiversity and SDGs”. This event will take place online on 21 February from 16.30 to 18.30 CET.

This event will provide an opportunity for an open conversation about the challenges and opportunities related to the engagement of cities and regions within the UN framework and regarding the increasing need for stronger synergies between climate change, biodiversity and sustainable development frameworks, in order to better mirror the reality of local action.

Written input such as position papers or other documents are also welcomed.
