World Food Forum

Launched in 2021 by the FAO, the World Food Forum is a youth-led global platform dedicated to transforming agrifood systems. It engages youth in action, science, and innovation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Alongside our partners, we host the Transformative Research Challenge (TRC), a global competition that encourages young people to apply research and develop innovative projects for transforming agrifood systems.

This year, our collaboration with various partners will offer prizes in categories including Food Loss and Waste, Global One Health, Plant-Based Food, Plant Breeding and Nutrition, and The Role of Water in Agrifood Systems. These prizes include research grants, internship opportunities, and expert mentorship. We kindly request your help in promoting this exceptional opportunity to young researchers within your networks and on relevant platforms.

Furthermore, we have launched a call for Mentors and Evaluators. We are seeking experts who are willing to guide young researchers in refining and advancing their innovative ideas and projects. Your support in spreading the word about this initiative is invaluable, as it enables young innovators globally to progress their ideas from conception to execution.

You can find detailed information about both calls—for Applicants, and for Mentors and Evaluators—on our website. We would deeply appreciate your support in sharing this information within your network or providing us with contact information (email addresses) for individuals we could directly contact.

Included with this email is a Communication Toolkit , which contains email templates, PDFs of calls for action (for mentors, evaluators, and applicants), and social media cards. We encourage you to distribute these emails within your network, display the printed materials on notice boards, and share the social media cards across your channels.

Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact Abusalah, Haneen (Haneen.Abusalah@fao.org) or Wang, Xiuqi (Xiuqi.Wang@fao.org).
